Whimsy Stamps August Release - Listen To Your Art

Image
Hello and Happy Thursday! It's Whimsy Release Day Today ! - WooHoo!! Can you believe it's August already?! Just a few months and we are talking Christmas again...oh my I am SO not ready for this! Where did the time go? Ok, but for the moment lets focus on the here and now ;-) There are awesome new goodies in the Whimsy Store available today. One of them is the Marble Background Stamp - Swoon! I am so in love with this stamp. But see for yourself: I inked the background with distress inks (picked raspberry, peacock feathers, mustard seed, wilted violet) using dense cosmetic brushes. I then stamped the  Marble Background   over the inked BG using VersaMark ink and heat embossedd with white embossing powder. I love how bright the BG turned out. I colored the images from the Artist Toolkit with Caran D'ache SupraColor watercolor pencils. I then fussy cut them and added them with foam tape on top of a vellum paper strip which I wrapped around the BG pan

Hi All!  Here  is a card I made using the fabulous  Curly Q's Background  Stamp  from Whimsy Stamps which has been released earlier this month. It's a versatile stamp and makes quick cards. Scroll down and read on if you want to know how I made this simple CAS card. I stamped the background stamp with Versamark ink onto white mixed media paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I made a simple color wash using 3 different watercolors in blue, yellow and pink.  The sentiment was also heat embossed in white on black cardstock and is included with the  Mermaid Dreams Clear Stamp Set  .  I cut it out using one of the  Wavy Stitched Squares  dies . I added a few sequins and glitter paper strips to decorate my card. Here is a list of all the goodies from the Whimsy store I used on my card:                               Thanks for stopping by today! Hugs,

More Giraffe's - A Thank You Card

Image
I am back today with my 3rd  PaperDoor  creation using this months uber adorable Giraffes  kit ! You just gotta love these Giraffes <3! This time I opted for a pretty simple Thank You card. I used the leaves stamps from the kit and stamped with Versamark ink onto white cardstock. I heat embossed using white embossing powder. Using mowed lawn distress ink and a dense brush I inked the background over the leaves and sprinkled on some more green ink. Once the ink was dry I carefully wiped off the ink from the white leaves and making them stand out even more. I attached the Giraffe and the sentiment with foam tape to add some dimension. Layered the image panel onto a brown designer paper panel from the Giraffes pack and that onto a A2 sized card. A few gemstones finish off my Giraffe Thank You card. Here are the products from the Whimsy Store I've used:                                    Hugs,

Happy Sunday Everyone!   I 'm   here today with a CAS watercolor card showcasing the   Beach Retreat  clear stamp set . This is a wonderful and versatile set and makes for a quick card. It is also ideal for watercolor beginners because of the simple scene.   I stamped on the back of a Canson XL 140lb watercolor paper with  Versafine Clair Nocturne ink . To color the image I used my Albrecht Dürer watercolor pencils from Faber Castell. The sentiment is included in the set. I used a black card base and layered the image onto a piece of the  Mermaid designer paper s .  For a bit of bling I finished off my card by adding some gemstones.  Here is a list of all the Whimsy goodies I used on my card:             Thanks for visiting me here today!
