Whimsy Stamps Holly Jolly

Hey Everyone! Here it is - my first Christmas creation for this season! Whimsy Stamps most recent release hit the store shelves just a few days ago and this is one of the new Christmas sets. Click HERE to check it out!

I used images from the NEW Holly Jolly clear stamp set as my focal image. I created the background by adding ink and on top I've added texture paste using the Harlequin stencil. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment white on black cardstock. I then cut it out using the Elegant Ornament die. A few white paint splatters and red sequins finish off my card.

Harlequin Stencil

Hey Peeps! I have another card I want to share with you today. It is a mixed media style card where I use the NEW Harlequin Stencil from Whimsy Stamps in combination with other recently released products.

To create my background I used the NEW Harlequin Stencil and Distress Oxide inks in Carved Pumpkin and Seedles Preserves. I added more texture to my BG using the Mixed Media Bits clear stamp set and pigment ink in gray, black and gold as well as red distress crayons. More details were added with a gold, black and white paint pen.

Whimsy Stamps New Product Launch - NoFuss Masks

Hi Crafty Friends! Whimsy Stamps is releasing a new product today - NOFUSS MASKS! How awesome is this?! Calling all the 'fussy-cutting-haters' 😄. This is going to be such a time saver, even if you don't mind fussy cutting, like I do. Now you can get all the cool looks that can be done with masking without the fuss!
They are available at the moment for 10 stamp sets but there is more to come! Each set contains 4 sheets of repositionable stamp image masks. Say goodbye to fussy cutting and hello to Whimsy Stamps NoFuss Masks.

Here I have some inspiration on how you can use these NEW NoFuss Masks:

I used several images of the Halloween Night clear stamp set and created this scene using the NoFuss Masks. After stamping all my images I left the masks on and started ink blending the background.

I did heavy blending with Distress Oxide-Inks and I was not careful at all. Usually my favorite paper for ink blending would be either mixed media cardstock or smooth Bristol cardstock. Because I wanted to color my images with alcohol markers I decided on Hammermill paper to create my scene. So I had to ink blend on Hammermill paper.

Even though HM paper is very smooth the ink does not blend as well as on my other favorite cardstock. It works but takes some effort to get a smooth blend. Therefore I really did a lot of ink blending for my background going back and forth between all the colors.

At first I was concerned about the masks. Could they handle all the blending with my brushes, would the edges start to peel back and curl up? I had this happen before with other masking paper!
What can I say? They did NOT! They stayed put perfectly, did not budge and the edges did not curl up! Just perfect! I am really impressed and can not recommend them enough.

If you shied away from creating stamped scenes or creating ink blended backgrounds around stamped images in the past because of masks - you won't anymore! It is such a time saver!

I highly recommend you try them for yourself. You will be as impressed and excited about them as I am!
