Newest Whimsy Release - AlFA Doodles

Happy Sunday All !

Have you seen the new Whimsy Stamps release yesterday? Today I am sharing a card made using  one of the new products, the NEW AlFA Doodles. I love this versatile alphabet set. It can be colored or just left as it is. For my card I chose to color it with alcohol markers and cut the letters out. I combined the NEW AlFA Doodles with the older  Beaucoup Bouquet flower set which I white heat embossed and watercolored using Mission Gold watercolors. The I fussy cut the flowers.
I love how bright the colors of the flowers and letters turned out. To make it even pop more I opted for a black background. I adhered the flowers with foam dots and the letters were glued. I added the image layer to a white A2 sized card base and added some clear iridescent confetti for some bling.

Whimsy Stamps - World Card Making Day 2018 Blog Hop & Giveaway

Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome to World Card Making Day with Whimsy Stamps!  We are so excited for you to join the fun today with an amazing blog hop from the talented Whimsy artists.  Each blog will have some inspiration with a card perfect for World Card Making Day.
My inspiration card today uses the wonderful, just released, Winter Roses Background stamp.

Here is how I created my card:

I stamped the large rose image and the single rose image from the Winter Roses Background stamp with antique linen Distress ink onto Canson 140lbs watercolor paper. I always use the smooth side of the paper when stamping my images onto watercolor paper. Using antique linen creates an outline that will fade while coloring with watercolors and the image will have a no-lines look.

I used Daniel Smith extra fine watercolors - one of my favorite brands if it comes to fine art watercolors. I love their vibrant pigment. After coloring the image I let it dry and did some detailing with Prismacolor pencils (a list of all colors used is posted below).
Then I fussy cut the images. Now I want to add some foiled details. With a quickie glue pen I traced the dotted lines and the outline of the single rose. After the glue dries it stays tacky. This is how we attach the foil to the image. I took a piece of gold transfer foil (the one you usually use with a laminator, e.g. deco foil) and placed it over my images and softly rubbed with my fingers. The foil sticks everywhere I put down glue. Now I have foiled dotted lines and my single rose has a golden shiny outline. This gives a real nice effect.

Now I have to create my background panel. I put down a golden watercolor wash (quinacridone gold) using a panel of watercolor paper. Let it dry. I sprinkled on some splatters with quinacridone purple and let it dry again.

My card base is  a top fold 4 1/2" x 5 1/2"  card cut from white heavy weight (100lb) cardstock.  To make the image pop I used a black cardstock layer underneath my background layer.  I added the roses with foam tape to give some dimension to the card.
I used my Quickie glue pen again to put some dots on the background layer (between the purple splatters) and after they dried I added gold foil again.

The sentiment is from the Holiday Mini Everyday Sentiments stamped on gold cardstock that has a satin sheen. One of my leftovers from an older PaperDoor kit. I added the sentiment using foam tape.
As a final touch I added some dew drops and tiny rhinestones.

Whimsy Stamps October Release Day 4 & Giveaway

Welcome to Day 4 of the Whimsy Stamps October Release!

Can you believe it's October already??? Where did the year go.....and it's time for Christmas cards again. But that's a fun and easy chore with the super cute holiday images from Whimsy Stamps! Click here to go shopping if you haven't yet already.

On my card today I am showcasing one of the newly released Marina Fedotova Christmas fairies - NEW Christmas Sprite.  Isn't she adorable? She is definitely one of my favorites from this release!

I colored Christmas Sprite primarily with Copics but added some details with pencils afterwards (a list of all Copics and pencils used is below). I kept the card simple. I didn't want to draw the attention away from this sweet image. Besides some snowflakes made with Nuvo Crystal Drops Simply White I only added 3 die cut evergreen trees. I thought they complement the image perfectly. They were die cut using the NEW Evergreen Tree Dies Set by Crissy Armstrong.  These trees are awesome and so super versatile. I love the style and that they do not have too many details which makes them perfect for CAS cards! This is a set of 4 different dies, to create 4 different tree shapes. The sentiment is from the NEW You're My Jolly sentiment set.
