Ok Deb,  this one is for you! (I know not the one you received but I think you'll enjoy the other one better πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘» Happy Halloween to you my friend! πŸ‘»πŸ’€πŸ‘½

Now onto my card....
I made a slimline card and combined the Fuzzy Spiders clear stamp set with the NEW Slimline Toner Card Fronts Terror 2 and Slimline Waves die.
To create the background I choose the Slimline Toner Card Fronts Terror 2 sheet with the spiders. I first inked it up using Distress Oxide inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Crackling Campfire, Seedless Preserves, Twisted Citron, Villainous Potion) and Whimsy Blending Brushes. Then I foiled the spiders using a sparkling silver toner reactive transfer sheet and my laminator. You can either ink the background first and foil afterwards or foil first and ink later. It works both ways.

Next I die cut the Slimline Waves die from black cardstock, cut my background layer to fit behind the Slimline Waves frame and adhered both to the front of a slimline card base.
I stamped the images and sentiment onto Hammermill cardstock with black hybrid ink. There is not much coloring done on these images. Just the hats and the eyes of the spiders were colored with alcohol markers.

I also added 3D glaze to the spiders eyes and Stickles Stardust glitter glue to the spider web and around the sentiment. On these close-up photos you can see the wonderful silver sparkle of the foiled spiders and the glossy eyes.  I love how the foiled spiders pop on the colorful background. These toner card fronts are super versatile.

ThermOWeb & Whimsy Stamps Collaboration

Hello Everyone! Welcome to my blog today where I share my creations for the

Displaying Collaboration Graphic 3.jpg

This week Whimsy Stamps and ThermOWeb are partnering for a fabulous week of inspiration and prizes!  All week long designers from both teams will be sharing ways to add foils and more to your projects using products from ThermOWeb and Whimsy Stamps.  Read to the end of this post to find out how you can win!

For my first card today I used Whimsy's Friend Word and Shadow die set from the February release as well as the Card Builder Windows die set

I die cut the large shadow from ThermOWeb's double sided white Foam Adhesive and applied Deco Foil in the color Lime green which has a nice satin sheen. I die cut the word friend from black cardstock and layered it on top of the lime green shadow. The lime green cardstock panel was die cut using the Card Builder Windows die set

My marbled background was created with Alcohol Inks on YUPO paper. Where the ink is pooling together it stays wet a bit longer and gets a bit sticky. This is what I used to apply the silver Deco Foil Transfer Sheets. After I applied the foil to all sticky areas there were still some areas I wanted to have more foil. So I used a brush and the Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive, let it dry and applied more foil.

Here is a close-up where you can see all the beautiful shine from the silver foil in the background and the shimmer from the lime green satin transfer sheet on the words shadow.

For my second card I used Whimsy's Speckled Heart Stencil together with ThermOWeb's Deco Foil Transfer Gel  and Magenta satin Transfer Sheets on light pink cardstock.

I used the Envelope Edger dies and the heart dies from the Sketched Elephant die set to create a border. On top I added the Smile large word die as my sentiment.

Here you can see the amazing sheen and brilliance the magenta foil gives the heart speckles. I also added a few gemstones and crystal drops from the Sparkletz - Jelly Fish mix to finish off my card.

Would you like to win a $25 gift certificate to Whimsy Stamps?  To enter, leave comments on all of the collaboration posts on the Whimsy blog this week.  One winner will be randomly chosen from all of the blog posts, so the more posts you comment on, the better your chances are of winning!  You have until Monday, February 11th at midnight CST to comment.  The winner will be announced on the Whimsy blog on Tuesday, February 12th.

Whimsy Stamps - World Card Making Day 2018 Blog Hop & Giveaway

Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome to World Card Making Day with Whimsy Stamps!  We are so excited for you to join the fun today with an amazing blog hop from the talented Whimsy artists.  Each blog will have some inspiration with a card perfect for World Card Making Day.
My inspiration card today uses the wonderful, just released, Winter Roses Background stamp.

Here is how I created my card:

I stamped the large rose image and the single rose image from the Winter Roses Background stamp with antique linen Distress ink onto Canson 140lbs watercolor paper. I always use the smooth side of the paper when stamping my images onto watercolor paper. Using antique linen creates an outline that will fade while coloring with watercolors and the image will have a no-lines look.

I used Daniel Smith extra fine watercolors - one of my favorite brands if it comes to fine art watercolors. I love their vibrant pigment. After coloring the image I let it dry and did some detailing with Prismacolor pencils (a list of all colors used is posted below).
Then I fussy cut the images. Now I want to add some foiled details. With a quickie glue pen I traced the dotted lines and the outline of the single rose. After the glue dries it stays tacky. This is how we attach the foil to the image. I took a piece of gold transfer foil (the one you usually use with a laminator, e.g. deco foil) and placed it over my images and softly rubbed with my fingers. The foil sticks everywhere I put down glue. Now I have foiled dotted lines and my single rose has a golden shiny outline. This gives a real nice effect.

Now I have to create my background panel. I put down a golden watercolor wash (quinacridone gold) using a panel of watercolor paper. Let it dry. I sprinkled on some splatters with quinacridone purple and let it dry again.

My card base is  a top fold 4 1/2" x 5 1/2"  card cut from white heavy weight (100lb) cardstock.  To make the image pop I used a black cardstock layer underneath my background layer.  I added the roses with foam tape to give some dimension to the card.
I used my Quickie glue pen again to put some dots on the background layer (between the purple splatters) and after they dried I added gold foil again.

The sentiment is from the Holiday Mini Everyday Sentiments stamped on gold cardstock that has a satin sheen. One of my leftovers from an older PaperDoor kit. I added the sentiment using foam tape.
As a final touch I added some dew drops and tiny rhinestones.
