Birthday Roses

Image
Hello and Welcome to my blog today! My project today features older Whimsy products. I used the beautiful Winter Roses BG stamp as well as the Brick stencil . The sentiment is created using the You're Birthday sentiment clear set and the the Birthday Word and Shadow die . I stamped the image onto Strathmore Mixed Media Paper 400 Series with Distress Ink Antique Linen. I wanted to achieve a no-lines look and the antique linen ink blends in with the colors while coloring the image. I used the following colors to color the roses: squeezed lemonade, picked raspberry, aged mahagony, peeled paint, shabby shutters, forest moss. Weathered wood and tumbled glass were used for the background. To create the brick wall I used the  Brick stencil and modelling paste. With Gelatos caramel and iced rose I gave the bricks a slightly weathered look and my card a touch of shabby chic. I simply used my fingers to rub it over the dried modelling paste. The word birthday was

Scary Creepy Crawlies

Image
Happy Tuesday Everyone! I am a huge animal lover...as long as they have not more than 4 legs! Oh and no legs are ok too (yes, I like snakes :-D ). But if it comes to spiders...YIKES...I scream and run...LOL . However, if all spiders would look as cute as these creepy crawlies, called Fuzzy Spiders from  Whimsy Stamps , I would probably change my mind....hahaha. The background was inked with Distress Inks Seedless Preserves and Mustard Seed and I've added dots of Stardust Stickles glitter glue. So, this is my first slimline card and what can I say...I love this new and very popular format. The best thing about it is that Whimsy Stamps has the NEW and innovative Slimline Dies which are perfect for this kind of cards! The one I used here is called Slimline Postage die . The spiders hats and eyes I colored using watercolor pencils. I actually had planned on using my Copics but when I started coloring I realized I stamped with Versafine Clair ink. So I had t

Spooky, Spooky - Some Halloween Inspiration

Image
Happy Hump-Day and welcome to my blog. It's all about Halloween at the moment here on my blog. Today I have another card to share which I made using some of the new Whimsy Stamps September products. For the background I used the Grass & Cloud Edger die set and a blank mylar sheet to create my own cloud stencil. I then inked the clouds using distress inks and a cosmetic brush. To complete my background I stamped the graveyard scene from the NEW Halloween Scream clear set with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I used the NEW Arched Window die to create my spooky window scene as well as the NEW Dracula Going Batty die set. The sentiment is also from the NEW  Halloween Scream clear set. Here is a link list of all the Whimsy products I've used to create my spooky card:                             Thanks for visiting me today here on my blog! Hugs,

Whimsy Stamps September Release - Falling Leaves and a Pumpkin Shaker

Image
Hello Crafty Friends! I'm a bit late this month sharing my release creations. Hurricane Dorian is to blame for that! We are safe and made it through the storm without any damage to the house this time, yay!! We are utmost thankful for that and are feeling horrible for everyone who was not so lucky and got hit hard by this catastrophic storm. <3  On my first release creation I used the beautiful NEW Falling Leaves BG stamp and NEW Build-a-Pumpkin Patch die set .  As well as the older  Thanks Word and Shadow die .   I stamped the Falling Leaves BG onto Strathmore Tan Mixed Media paper with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embosing powder. Then I colored the BG using Brusho paint powder. Colors I used are: Leaf Green, Yellow, Orange, Scarlet and Dark Brown. To create the shaker I used the large pumpkin die from the  Build-a-Pumpkin Patch die set . I die cut the pumpkin twice from orange glitter cardstock. I hand cut a window in one of the pu
