Hello Beautiful ~ No-Line Watercoloring

Image
Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Tuesday! I have a cute card to share today where I am using the adorable Bunnies in the Garden stamp set from  Whimsy Stamps '  Crissy Armstrong Collection. It is a rather simple card where I put the focus on the images and the no-line watercolor technique. I first stamped the cute bunny image onto Strathmore 400 Series Mixed Media paper using a very light colored ink (I used Altenew Crisp Ink in Vanilla) . Then I used the coordinating No-Fuss Masks to cover my stamped image before stamping the FaDoodle Blooms in the background with the same ink. I used my ink based Karin Brush Marker Pro pens to color the images in the no-line watercolor technique. Usually I like to use a waterbrush together with the Karin markers but with the no-line technique I prefer a regular brush (I Used an Escoda round, size 2 brush). After I was done coloring I put the no-fuss mask back over the bunny image before sprinkling black and gold paint all over the images. Then

Hey folks - Happy Tuesday! Are you into playing Pickleball or know someone who does?  Whimsy Stamps has a new Pickleball stamp as well as a new Pickleball die set in the store. It's super cute and here are two cards I made using both sets. Both cards are quickly made thanks to these awesome sets. I combined it with the NEW Mix and Match Scallop Rectangles to achieve a layered look. My embellishments - confetti sequins and crystals - are from my friend Lisa's store 'This Calls For Confetti' . Bee Cute - Whimsy Stamps Mini Release Quick Card Fronts

Image
Happy April Fools Day! Not fooling around here though! There is a super cute mini release today at Whimsy Stamps and these super cute Quick Card Fronts - Bee Cute are available in the store now. As well as a brand new set of nesting Mix and Match Marquee dies. They are a perfect match with these new Quick Card Fronts and give you tons of options. I have two examples to share today using both of the new products. My first card is a bit more lavish. When I saw this cute image I knew I wanted to use mulberry flowers with it. I still have boxes full of these pretty flowers from when I did more of the shabby chic style of cards. So it was a nice change to dig through all the pretty flowers once again and pick matching ones for my card and then start decorating it.  I actually just wanted to show you how versatile these QCF's are and that they go with every card style. May it be clean and simple like my second card or more sumptuous like the first card here. Your options with th

Missing Piece

Image
Hey All! Here is another card created using products from Whimsy Stamps most recent release. On this one I used the Puzzle Pieces die.  My base is a black top-fold mini-slim card. I used mixed media cardstock to create an ink smooshed background with Distress Oxide inks. After the ink was dry I used black and white acrylic paint to add sprinkles. Using the Puzzle Pieces die I created the main layer and glued it to white cardstock - except one piece! - for stability. I then cut out the missing piece from black cardstock and added it offset on top of the missing puzzle piece using foam tape. Now I added the puzzle piece layer to the card base, added the sentiment and a few clear dew drops to finish the card. A product link list can be found below. Products used to create my card: Thanks for droppin' in today! Hugs,

Bunnies in the Garden - Whimsy Stamps March Release

Image
Hi Crafty Friends! Welcome on my blog and to Whimsy Stamps March 2024 release. All the products are now live in the store. Here is a link to all new products from March including this release: March 2024 products Here is my release inspiration using the super cute Bunnies in the Garden clear stamp set illustrated by the amazingly talented Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps. There are also matching No-Fuss-Masks available for this set and matching outline dies.  To create my scene I first stamped the images onto a panel of mixed media paper. I also used the No Fuss Masks to overlap some of the images and also to ink the background with Distress Oxide Inks. These masks are such a time saver, no more time-consuming fussy cutting. They fit perfectly and also stay in place while inking.  I water colored the images with Stabilo Pen 68 markers and added depth and some details using Caran D'ache Luminance pencils. To complete my scene I die cut different elements from the Slimli

Embrace Your Weirdness

Hey Crafty Friends!  Before the newest Whimsy release will go live at midnight I have two more cards to share from the February release. My first one has a Mixed Media touch to it. I used the So Weird clear stamp set together with earlier released products. All products I've used are listed below including links.  I started out with a kraft cardstock panel. First I've added white paint to distress the cardstock panel a bit. Then I started adding texture with the Harlequin stencil, texture paste and distress crayons. I also added scribbles and doodles using the Mixed Media Bits stamp set with black ink and a golden marker. Finally I've added golden, white and black splatters to the background. I distressed the pink Polaroid die-cut also with white paint, added a stamped doodle and brick wall also from the Mixed Media Bits stamp set. The focal point is the crow image from the So Weird stamp set which I stamped onto kraft cardstock and cut out using the Frame Labels die s

Happy Birthday Old Geezer - Whimsy Stamps New Mini Release

Image
Hello Crafty Friends! It's March1st and that means Whimsy is releasing new Quick Card Fronts! Old Fart Grandma and Old Fart Grandpa are they called this month. In addition there is a clear stamp set called Old Fartness and a complementing Word and Shadow Die set Old Fart Geezer. Here is my creation using the Old Fartness stamp together with the Old Fart Geezer Word and Shadow Die set. I got creative and used the stamp for a birthday card a little bit differently than intended I guess 😉 I created the background for my card with Distress Oxide inks and the 'ink-smooshing' technique. The image was colored with alcohol markers. The balloons, cake and stamped sentiment are from recently released sets (see below in link list). The black frame was cut out using two dies from the Extreme Postage nested die set.  Whimsy Stamps products used: Thanks for visiting!
