Magnolias - Whimsy New Release

Image
Hi Peeps! Another awesome release is available at the Whimsy store today. I love flowers and I love to create with flower images/dies/stencils and also draw flowers myself. So when I saw this new Magnolia die ....swoooooon! Endless posibilities! <3 Of course I had to use it right away for one of my release creations :-D  Here is what I came up with using the NEW Magnolia A2 die . I cut out the Magnolia background from kraft cardstock and layered it onto Arches watercolor paper. Then I colored the Magnolias pink using my Altenew watercolors and the background in a pearlescent white (Gansai Tambi).   I added a strip of vellum paper with the word Birthday stamped and embossed. To complete the sentiment I stamped the words happy and wishes onto black cardstock and heat embossed with white.  Here is  a closeup where you can see the shimmer from the white paint. It makes the magnolias really stand out and is such a nice contrast to the kraft color. For the flower centers I used golden

Live Laugh Love - Mixed Media Tag

Image
Hey Everyone & Happy Sunday! Welcome to my blog today where I would like to show you a mixed media tag I made using all Whimsy Stamps products. Whimsy has such a huge variety on stamps that make it easy to create in the mixed media style. My mixed media style is more on the cute side. I am not really a huge fan of the non-cute stamps and/or steampunk stamps.  One day I was browsing Pinterest and I saw a mixed media tag that inspired me to create something similar with just Whimsy products . Especially after the release of the Build a Fairy Garden die set.  Here is the link  to the tag where I got my inspiration from!  I started out with a white tag cut from mixed media paper. I then covered the tag with a layer of very light pink acrylic paint. I then added some texture with structure paste and stencils (brick and honeycomb - linked below). I added color with my Gelatos and a water brush and more texture and interest to the backgound with FADoodles clear stamps and Distress B

May All Your Dreams Come True - Unicorn Magic Challenge

Image
Hey Crafty-Friends! Time for another challenge with my friends Alanna and Faye. This time we are using the cute Unicorn Magic stamp set and each of us is using a different coloring medium. It's my time to use pencils. Please visit Alanna's blog here and Faye's blog here to see their amazing Unicorn creations! I colored the image with CaranD'ache Luminance and CaranD'ache Pablo pencils. The image was stamped with Inkon3 Fade Out ink onto kraft mixed media paper. I combined the new Slimline Cloud die with a sheet of the Bokeh Bliss papers to create the background for my unicorn. The sentiment is included in the Unicorn stamp set. Whimsy products used: Thanks for visiting! Hugs,

Alpha and the Omega

Image
Hi there! I am back today to show more of my release creations for Whimsy's March 1st release . The NEW Savior dies and Savior sentiments combined with the NEW Glorious Sky Slimline Papers make perfect Easter cards or Condolence & spiritual cards.  There's no coloring involved this time in my first card. It's an all die cut card. Just the sentiment is stamped. Together with the  Glorious Sky Slimline Papers   and the Slimline Cloud die the   Savior dies  and  Savior sentiments  make a perfect Easter card.  On my second card I just used the  Glorious Sky Slimline Papers   and the 3 crosses die from the   Savior die   set and cut them out from black cardstock . I wanted the background papers to stand out. This paper pack is fantastic and one of my favorite Slimeline paper packs so far. I just added a frame cut from white glitter paper to give the card a bit of a subtle sparkle. I omitted the sentiment because I think in this case less is more. This card is ma

Unicorn Magic - Whimsy March 1st Mini Release

Image
Hey Peeps! Can you believe it's March already? Where did the time go. It feels as if Christmas was just last week...jeeeez! Anyhow, it's March Mini Release time at Whimsy Stamps . Here is my first creation for this release using the utterly adorable Unicorn Magic stamps by Dustin Pike. This is a one layer (even though that the image is cut out and adhered to the card front I see it as a one layer card) A2 size topfold card.  I colored the little fella with Dr Ph Martin Bombay Inks and Derwent Colorsoft pencils. Because I like to combine coloring mediums I often stamp my images onto Strathmore 400 Series Mixed Media paper. The doodlings are stamped using two different stamp sets from Whimsy. I listed them below in the product link list. Whimsy Stamps products used: Thanks for stopping by! I have more new release creations to show tomorrow! Hugs,

Whimsy Stamps New Release - Meme FYI

Image
Hey Friends , guess what! It's release time at Whimsy Stamps again. Like every 10 days we're having a new mini-release in the store .   Here is my card with some of the new stamps combined with previously released dies. I started out by stamping the NEW WTF Background Stamp onto light blue cardstock with Versafine Clair Warm Breeze. I cut it to 5 1/4" x 4" and layered it on top of a white, topfold, portrait A2 size card base. I then stamped the image and sentiment from the NEW Meme FYI   onto white Hammermill 100lb cardstock. I fussy cut the image and die cut the sentiment with one of the Speech Bubbles die set. I decided to leave the image uncolored. I wanted it to match the sentiment and large word and make everything really stand out from the blue background. The L arge Word and Shadow die UGH!  was also cut out from white Hammermill 100lb cardstock. The UGH! shadow has been cut out from black cardstock. I also cut out another speechbubble from black cardstoc
