Burst of Colors

Hello and Happy Hump-Day! I have a little Halloween inspiration for you today. It won't be long and we'll be starting fall season (actually next month already...eeek!) and with fall comes also Halloween. I have to admit I am not too much into Halloween. But for me it also means the start of the Holiday season, which  IS  my favorite season. Therefore I am definitely looking forward to that time of the year :-D   If I do Halloween cards I like more the sweet and funny ones not so much the scary stuff. This is why I liked to combine the more scary  Goth Skulls background stamp  with the cute and sweet  Candy Corn Dress Up  clear stamp set. I inked one half of a white cardstock panel with Distress Inks  Spiced Marmalade  and  Squeezed Lemonade . I then partially stamped the  Goth Skulls   background   with  Versafine Clair Nocturn ink  over the inked part to create my background. Hello Crafty Friends!  Here is another card I made with a new August release image from  Whimsy Stamps . This time it's an image from Crissy. It's one of her super cute elephants, called Ellies Autumn Day . I stamped the image with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto Canson watercolor paper. I always stamp on the smooth side of a cold press watercolor paper. Then I used my Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils to color the sweet elephant image. I stamped the image again onto masking paper, cut it out, adhered it over the image and stamped the Scratchy Plaid Background using a matching ink (milled lavender distress ink). After removing the masking paper I added the blue outline/shine around the image, again with watercolor pencils. The sentiment is from the You're Birthday clear set. Hello and Happy Thursday! It's Whimsy Release Day Today ! - WooHoo!! Can you believe it's August already?! Just a few months and we are talking Christmas again...oh my I am SO not ready for this! Where did the time go? Ok, but for the moment lets focus on the here and now ;-) There are awesome new goodies in the Whimsy Store available today. One of them is the Marble Background Stamp - Swoon! I am so in love with this stamp. But see for yourself: I inked the background with distress inks (picked raspberry, peacock feathers, mustard seed, wilted violet) using dense cosmetic brushes. I then stamped the  Marble Background   over the inked BG using VersaMark ink and heat embossedd with white embossing powder. I love how bright the BG turned out. I colored the images from the Artist Toolkit with Caran D'ache SupraColor watercolor pencils. I then fussy cut them and added them with foam tape on top of a vellum paper strip which I wrapped around the BG pan
