Tree Swing - Happy Birthday Card

Image
Hello All! I have a card to share with you today which was one of my 'Make & Takes' at this years Whimsy Stamps Craft Retreat in Orlando last weekend where I had the great honor to teach again this year. I used a Dove Art stamp called Tree Swing and the sentiment is from the Enjoy the Journey clear set. I colored the image with Copics and kept the card clean and simple. I wanted to emphasize the image so I created a frame with an extra layer of cardstock around the center of the image. Some Stardust Stickles add even more interest. Butterflies Fluttering

Image
Hello Crafty Folks , I am back today with a colorful card.  I discovered my love for gel plate printing and the background I used on this card is made using this technique with acrylic colors and LOTS of different Whimsy products (see link list below) The butterfly and sentiment are from the newly released DoveArt stamp set Butterflies Fluttering . I stamped the butterfly on a piece of the background paper and fussy cut it to match it perfectly to the BG. Even though the butterfly blends in in terms of color, the fact that it is cut out and popped up gives a nice 3D effect on the card. The added Stickles to the wings add a nice touch of bling. I created a watercolor look with the acrylics on my gel plate and after printing I added more texture and depth to the print using different  Whimsy   stamps and stencil with Archival Ink and acrylic paints, distress crayons and doodling with a white gel pen.  Whimsy products used:

Fairy Ariel Dressed Up for St. Paddy's Day

Image
Happy TGIF to all my crafty friends! Did you know Whimsy Stamps is having a St. Patricks Day Event going on in our FB group?    Share your St Patrick's Day predominantly 'green' creations with us featuring a Whimsy Stamps image and be in the draw for some great prizes. Please see all the details and infos HERE . Whimsy has several awesome images/stamps for this event. Of course any green colored Whimsy image will count! So this is why I picked Fairy Ariel by Marina Fedotova for my green project. The background for my card was created using a solid green paper from the Tiger DP. I love that the Whimsy DP is very high quality and has that luxurious sheen to it. The texture was created with the Messy Mesh BG stamp by Deb Davis and Versafine Clair Green Oasis stamp. I used the Notched Square die set to cut out my fairy. Ariel was colored with Copics. I gave her red hair for a nice contrast to the green and also because if I think of Irish, red

Whimsy February Release - Bee-utiful Bees & Spiral Roses

Image
I am back today with another creation showing some of the new February Release items at Whimsy Stamps !  On my card I used the Spiral Rose BG , Bee-utiful Bees rubber set and the Peekaboo Window 3 die. The background I used was made using the gel print technique and acrylic colors and different other Whimsy stamps and stencils. I will have another blog post soon with more details on how I use Whimsy products and this fun and artistic technique to create beautiful backgrounds. To give some extra detail to one of the roses I used Deco Foil transfer sheets in satin lime green and Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive.  I colored the bees with Copics to match the colpor scheme of my background. I've added shimmer to their wings using a Wink of Stella clear brush pen. Some crystal gemstones finish off my card. Bat Balloon

Image
Hello Crafters & Happy Hump-Day! I have a Halloween card to share with you today. I combined the super cute Bat Balloon  rubber stamp, Tree Silhouette rubber stamp and the  Halloween Creatures Stencil  on my card. I sponged the background with Distress Oxide inks and stamped the  Tree Silhouette  using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. I then stenciled the flock of bats with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. The  Bat Balloon  stamp was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black onto Hammermill 100lb Digital Copy Cover Stock, colored with Copics and cut out. I adhered the image to the background using foam tape for more dimension. A few Sequins and a very thin paper strip as balloon string complete this fun Halloween card. The purple glitter paper I used as a layer is from an older PaperDoor kit.   Here are all the products form the Whimsy store I used:                                                                    Thanks for visiting!
