Especially For You!

Image
Hey Whimsy Fans - Especially for you! Last time I colored Dudley the dragon from the new release and this time I have a super cute Gnome to share. He's been release on January 1st and is from Whimsy's Crissy Armstrong collection. This set is called Gnome One Like You I had fun coloring this guy with my Copics - list of colors used further down below. But have to admit that while I was coloring I was in shock how dirty and neglected my Copics really are *shameonme*. My friend and fellow teamie Faye would say I am a bad Copic Mommy ;-) So I guess on the weekend there is a big Copic cleaning and refill session coming up...*sigh* The patterned paper I used is from the also NEW Heart to Heart 6x6 paper pack . The sentiment is from the Dudleys Mailed with Love set and the tiny hearts I've added are cut out leftovers from the  Slimline Hearts Background . The edge of the patterned paper was cut using one of the NEW Slimline Envelope Edger dies. Copic colors used: BG0

Love You Yeti Much

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Sunday! Here is another card I made with products from the new Whimsy January release. There is this awesome NEW slimline designer paper pack 'Frozen ' which I immediately fell in love with. I combined it with the NEW Yeti For Love stamp set from the Crissy Armstrong collection and the Slimline Scenic Countryside and Slimline Waves dies .  I colored the Yeti with my Karin markers and FC Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils. The background was created using one of the Slimline Frozen designer papers and the  Slimline Scenic Countryside and Slimline Waves die . These slimline background papers make for quick cards. Just add your image a few details with die cuts and embellies and your card is dome. Perfect if you want to create handmade cards but do not have enough time to create your own background or if you are a beginner cardmaker and still learning all the different BG techniques.  Whimsy products used:     Thanks for stopping by. Whimsy Stamps Celebrating Slimline Dies - Instagram Hop

Image
Hello Friends! Whimsy Stamps ’ is the innovator of slimline dies,  having been the first company to manufacture and introduce dies designed to help you create those increasingly-popular, slimline cards.  To celebrate that achievement, we are having an Instagram hop and giving one lucky follower a $25 gift certificate to the store. The hop starts now (August 28th at noon) on @whimsystamps IG account and is open until Monday, August 31st at midnight EST.    There is also a video hop alongside this IG hop. Another chance for you to win a $25 gift certificate. It starts at the Whimsy Stamps video channel on YouTube.  To join in on the celebration I made this card using the Slimline Connected Bubbles die from Whimsy's slimline collection and the Best Fishes clear stamps set with the coordinating Best Fishes Sentiments set, both illustrated by  Crissy Armstrong . How I created this card: I started out by creating the BG layer using Distress Stains. I used Bristol smooth paper a

More New Whimsy Stuff - Baby On Board

Hello Everyone & Happy Tuesday! Today I have a baby card to share where I combined two different kind of stamps. One is a Crissy fairy stamp from the NEW Fairy Dreams rubber set and the other is one from Dustins collection called NEW Hedgie Love and is a clear set. I combined the two images by stamping the stork image onto Bristol smooth paper with watercolor friendly ink and then masking it off and stamping the fairy.  I included a little shaker element but kept the card overall very clean and simple.  I cut out the shaker window using the square element from the Slimline Card Builder die set. I colored the images using my Karin Markers   and a waterbrush. Adding Nuvo Glacier Paste in Haute Red to the stork's  beak and feet creates a bit of bling and shine.  Two layers of clouds and the sentiment finish off my card. The sentiment is included with the Hedgie Love set and to create the clouds I used the Grass & Cloud Edger die set.  Here is a list of all Whimsy product

Fresh Friday Featuring Ellie Blows Bubbles

Hey Peeps! Today is Friday and that means time for another round of Fresh Friday product features on the Whimsy Inspirations blog . The Fresh Friday products are now 20% off during the 2 weeks feature. No coupon code needed as they are already marked down in the store. Go and get this awesome sale!! Here is my inspiration using some of the featured products - the super cute Ellie Blows Bubbles rubber stamp by Crissy Armstrong, You Are sentiment clear stamps and  Notched Square dies .  I colored my image with Karin Brushmarker Pro . This is a pretty simple card but the shaped card base, several layers, popped up sentiment and added embellies and glitz gives this otherwise simple card an interesting touch. So even if you create a fast and fairly simple card it does not have to be boring. We don't always have the time and create for hours - even if I wish I would ...LOL. So this card was done in a little bit over an hour including coloring.  Here is a l

Fishing You All The Best

Hello Crafty Friends! No coloring today on my fish bowl card. I've been a bit behind with my DT creations due to life being in the way but finally caught up. This die set - released earlier this month -  is called NEW   Kitty Cat  Extras die set. I've used the fish bowl and fish dies from this set to create the main image. The die cut water plants are from an older set called Build an Ocean die set. I used the Making Waves stencil to create the water in the bowl. A little extra touch was added by using one of the NEW Fish & Mice border dies with an underlayer. of matching blue cardstock. Here is a link list of all Whimsy products used on my card:                                             Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,
