Whimsy's Second Halloween Release - Being Tied Up!

It's time for Whimsy Stamps second Halloween release - CREEPY ðŸ•·ðŸ•¸ðŸ§Ÿ

There is also an Instagram hop going on with a $25 giveaway!

Now onto my creation:

To create the web background I used the NEW Broken Web Slimline Embossing Folder on a purple white wash coredinations cardstock. After running it through my die cut machine I used a sanding pad to reveal the purple color of the embossed parts. I then sprinkled on some black paint.
The image is from the NEW Cocoon Clear Stamp Set and I colored it with alcohol markers (Ohuhu).
The spiders are cut from black cardstock using the NEW Spiders and Webs die set released earlier this month. I sprinkled the die cut spiders with a bit of white paint and added them to the background panel with foam dots. I also added the girl image with foam dots.
I stamped the sentiment (included with the clear stamp set) on kraft cardstock and used the ticket die from the NEW ATC Book Die Set to cut it out. Using brads to adhere the sentiment to the background panel. All Whimsy products are linked below (affiliate links used at no cost to you!).

EEK! - Whimsy Stamps First Halloween Release of 2021!

Hello Friends - I am BACK! Sorry for being MIA for almost a month. It has been a super crazy time here at our house and I was not able to create. But I am back now and right in time for Whimsy Stamps first Halloween release - EEK! ....with a really creepy spooky card. 🕷🕸🧟

There is also an Instagram hop going on with a giveaway!

I am absolutely terrified by spiders and if I would live right there in my card scene I would have dropped dead already - LOL

I used distress oxide inks to create the background: scattered straw, stormy sky, chipped sapphire, black soot, seedless preserves, twisted citron. Then I cut the Haunted Graveyard border die from black cardstock and the fullmoon (I used one of the circles included with the Haunted Graveyard Border Die ) from glossy pearlized cardstock.

To achieve a really creepy feeling I added spiders and a web using the Spiders and Webs die set. I cut out the EEK! word and shadow die from lime green cardstock to add it to my card scene. I also used bats and a ghost which I die cut using previously released die sets. Please see below for a link list of all products I used on my card.

Hola - Guten Tag - Bonjour

Happy TGIF! I have one more card to share from the most recent release at Whimsy Stamps. I am using the Bendy Borders clear stamp set again. This time on a slimline butterfly card.

I used the second smallest butterfly shape from the Butterfly Outline die set to cut out my butterflies shapes from the Taffy slimline papers. I arranged them on my card panel so that some of the butterflies would be hanging over the edge. Then I glued them down and once dry I cut off all the parts that were peeking over the edge. I stamped the Bendy Border onto vellum paper and used my paper trimmer to cut it so it would fit over the entire card panel lengthwise. I also stamped the smallest of the butterflies from the Butterflies clear stamp set onto vellum paper and used the matching outline die from the Butterflies Outline die set to cut it out. I added it to the card using glue dots. A few small clear rhinestones between the words finish off this card.

'Seas' The Day

Hello crafty friends! The NEW Under The Sea stamp set from Whimsy Stamps most recent release is just the cutest and was totally screaming 'underwater shaker scene' to me 😃 ...well, so here we go...

I created my slimline shaker using the frame die from the Slimline Scenic Countryside die set. The shaker background is made using the Slimline Under The Sea papers and the sentiment is from the 'Baby Sea Creatures' clear stamp set.  I didn't want to cover too much of the background paper so I went with different sized clear sequins and confetti as my shaker filling.

Again I colored my images using my Ohuhu alcohol markers, the newest addition to my coloring mediums. I love to use them, they are super juicy and blend like butter. I think so far they hold up very well next to my beloved Copics. I am really impressed. I will test them further and might do a review in the near future.

Ohuhu Markers used:

Red (Shrimp): R1, R2, R160, R22
Blue (Eyes): B220, B140, BGII05
Green (Turtle): G020, GY4, GY5, GY42
GY173, Y230, WG050,YG080
Purple (Stingray): V020, V160, P2, RG120
Pink (Seahorse): RV260, RV270, R21, RG120, RG150
Hermit Crab: R1, R2, R160, RG150, RG030, E380, E400
and the colorless blender

New Release - You Are On A Roll

Hello Stamping Friends & Happy Saturday! There are super cute new stamps and other products in the Whimsy shop today, all available HERE.

Below is an A2 sized card I made using some of the new products combined with previously released things. Please scroll down for a list of Whimsy products used. Whimsy's array of products gives you such a wide choice to choose from that you will always find matching stamps, dies, papers etc.

I recently splurged and bought some new alcohol markers. I still have all of my Copics of course but I also like to try new things and with the Copics and Copic refills being so expensive lately and sometimes also hard to get, I wanted to see what else is out there that is of good quality for a better price. So I did weeks of research and read lots of reviews and watched You Tube videos. I decided to try out the Ohuhu alcohol markers from the Honolulu series. They also have a brush and a broad nib. So far I've swatched them all out and also colored several images. I have to say I am very impressed. They are super juicy, blend like butter and are available in 242 different colors (at least the Honolulu series). I will do some more testing and then I might do a product review here on my blog. If you are interested keep an eye on my blog during the next couple of weeks.

Ok onto my card now....I started out by stamping my image from the NEW On A Roll clear stamp set onto Hammermill 100lb Color Copy Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then colored with my new Ohuhu markers and fussy cut the image. Scroll down for a list of colors used for this image.

To create the background I used the NEW Revealers 1 die set together with the previously released Giraffe stencil and a texture paste from Cosmic Shimmer in Frosted Blossom. The sentiment is included with the clear stamp set. I stamped part of the sentiment directly on my card layer and the other part with Versamak ink onto black cardstock and white heat embossed it. When I was done I added my image with foam dots onto my background layer and popped everyhting onto a black A2 cardstock base. A few added sequins finish off my card.

I am adding a list of marker colors I've used. Maybe you also own the Ohuhu markers and are having a hard time to find color combinations. The color naming system is different from the Copic system and I honestly haven't found out yet how it's supposed to work...LOL. Because even if your marker is labeled e.g. R for reds you will find R's ins several different color groups and the numbers do not yet make sense to me either. But with my swatch for help it was quite quick and easy easy to find color combinations.

Ohuhu Markers used:
Yellow: Y1, Y2, YR2, YR1
Brown: E380, E400, R28, YR95
Pink: R21, R23, RV320
Eyes: BGII03, B340
Shoes: R26, R280, R27, R28 / CGII00, BG050,BG070,CG5
and the colorless blender
