Here is the first creation I made using the 'Eggstra Bunnies' kit:

I used some beautiful flower patterned paper from the Eggstra Bunnies 6x6 paper pack as my background. The image from the Eggstra Bunnies clear stamp set was cut out with the included complementing dies and colored with Karin Brushmarkers Pro. I also used one of the 'Nested Eggs' dies behind my bunny to make him pop off the patterned paper. Sentiment is included with the stamp set as well.

Dahlias on Grey Mixed Media Paper

Hi Everyone and Happy Sunday! Today I want to share a card I made using Whimsy's 'Layered Dahlia' from the Crissy Armstrong collection using Prisma pencils on grey mixed media paper.

My card is a A2 size top-fold card. I started out by stamping the Dahlia blossoms, buds and leaves with Versamark embossing ink onto grey mixed media paper. Using the embossing ink makes lines nearly invisible after coloring. They will blend almost perfectly with your pencil coloring.

When I color with pencils on colored paper like this grey mixed media paper I always put down a white layer first. Then I put down all the colored layers on top of the white layer. This will make sure your colors stay bright and you can avoid dull colors.
A few white sprinkles (white acrylic paint) add an artistic look. A simple sentiment (included with the set) and a few sequins finish off my card. This CAS style card is perfect for many occasions.

Whimsy Stamps March Release - Lollygagging

Hi peeps! It's been a while since my last post. Life interfered big time with my card creating but now I am back. It's the time of the month and the new March release from Whimsy Stamps is live in the shop HERE.

This is Harley from the Polka Dot Pals by Barbara Sproatmeyer. I colored with Copics and Pencils and masked him onto a tree stump that is also included with the clear set. The BG is created by using the NEW Hexagon Die set  and the NEW Criscross Gingham BG stamp. I stamped the Criscross Gingham with Memento Summer Sky.

I stamped the included sentiment on the bottom front of the card and added a few black and silver sequins to finish off this CAS card.

Mountain Rams

Hope you all are having a good week. The Mountain Rams from the Whimsy DoveArt collection are a super versatile stamp. I used them on a friendship card but they are also great to be used on a birthday card for someone borne under the zodiac sign of Aries or for someone who loves the mountains etc. 

I colored the image using Karin Brush PRO Markers. Whimsy stamps has them on sale for a lower price now.....just saying! If you ever thought that the DoveArt stamps are difficult to color don't shy away. In fact they are super easy to color because the artist has already included all the shadow areas and details. This really makes it easy to color these images. Give it a try if you haven't already.

I wanted to include more background than only sky behind my image so I opted for the Create a Scene Forest rubber stamp also by DoveArt. Aren't these fir trees perfect in the background?  I also used the Friend Word & Shadow die as well as the Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set and the Upon a Star border die to create my card.

More Inspiration - Sugar Rush Paper Door Kit

Happy Saturday Peeps! Some more Paper Door inspiration from me today! As you know, the NEW January kit  is available in the Whimsy store now! 

Here is another card I made using this fabulous 'Sugar Rush' - Paper Door Kit.

This time I used the complementing Sugar Rush clear stamp as well as the Sweets background stamp. I colored using FC Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils.

I've stamped the Sweets BG stamp with a light pink color in the background and sponged the edges with a brown color to give the image a bit of a vintage look. The image and frame were die cut using the Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set. The designer paper layer is from the included Licorice 6x6 paper pad.

For my first card I used the lollipops from the 'Sweet as Sugar' clear stamp set included with the kit.

I colored the lollipops with Tombow Alcohol brush markers and cut them out. The word 'Sweet' was stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink (as was the rest of the sentiment) and cut out using the "Sweet Word and Shadow Die". 

Here are two angled shots:

For the background I wanted a subtle pattern so I stamped the large rubber background stamp "Sweets" with Versamark ink onto white cardstock and heat embossed white. It's hard to catch the white on white in the photo but I think you can see it here in this shot.
