Graph'It Color Challenge - Vintage Polka Dots

Happy Black Friday Everyone! I hope you all here in the US had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Are you going to do some Black Friday shopping? I know I wont go anywhere today - LOL. I never go out on Black Friday. I just don't like crowds and crazy shopping people. I'm planning on doing all my Christmas decoration inside the house today and get me my poinsettias tomorrow for my outside decorations.

Today a new Graph' It Color Challenge starts and the theme this week is Vintage and Polka Dots. Show us your vintage creations incorporating polka dots. And this is what I came up with:

The Weathered Clock die is from Sizzix by Tim Holtz. Other embellies I used are lace tape, metal embellishments, German glass glitter, pearls, Gesso, Snow Tex and Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

Momas Julhyacint - Christmas Hyacinth

How about some freshly bloomed flowers in bright colors with a heavenly scent? Do you grow Christmas Hyacinths? When I was a kid my mom always started them in September so they would be in full bloom around Christmas time. The hyacinth bulbs where sitting in - actually on top of - special bowls full of water. I remember she used special paper cones in bright colors to cover the bulbs during the first weeks.

My favorite hyacinth color always was violet. When I saw this beautiful Hyacinth image, called Julhyacint from Momas lil' shop of stamps I knew I gonna color it in violet shades. It's available as digital stamp.

Another CAS card here. I colored using Derwent Inktense pencils. I love the brilliant intense colors of these ink-like watercolor pencils and the fact that they are permanent when dry. Also that they can be used in both ways, with and without water! I used them as watercolor pencils.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Sunday!

Graph'It Color Challenge - Lucky 7 / Anything Goes

Happy TGIF and Welcome to a New Graph'It Color Challenge! This week our theme is 'Lucky 7 or Anything Goes'. Use all 7 new markers...and of course not all of you already have the 7 new markers yet that's then also Anything Goes! Well, that was quite difficult for me as of now I only have three of the new colors...LOL. But I have more markers on the way - YAY can't wait until they get here. Ok so I used what I had and this is what I came up with:

The cute teddy bear is a LOTV image and you will find the markers I've used below the next photo. Papers are from Bo Bunny's 'Elf Magic' collection. Flowers are from WOC and the charms and embellies are from my stash. Sentiment is a Whimsy sentiment.

Here are the all the Graph' It markers I 've used:

Brown: 3190, 3170, 3130, 3110,4155
Pink: 5115,4135,9303
White: 7109(new), 7105
Lilac: 6120, 6140, 6175(new)
Red: 5220, 5210, 5250, 9303
Blue: 7105, 7125, 7170
Green: 8190(new), 8270, 8120
Lime: 8280, 3230, 1130

You can get them at Polkadoodles and they have free worldwide shipping on orders over £10 :-)

By now I've colored a few images with my new Graph 'It markers and must say I'm still very impressed. The juiciness and blendability of these markers is awesome. I can't wait to put my order in and get me some brush nibs....will dos o tomorrow, YAY :-) My feeling is that with brush nibs these markers are real close to Copics! And I'm not saying this only because I'm on the Graph'It team, this is my honest opinion. I'll keep you updated!

Winter Friends,Graph'It Markers & a First Try!

Happy Saturday to you all! Today I have another new Whimsy Wee image to share. and also some DT news. :-) I already shared the news on FB last week so some of you may already know ...I made the Graph'It Marker UK DT - WOOHOOO!! I still can't believe my luck. I officially start on November 1st and my first DT package already arrived this week. I could not resist to start playing. For me it's a bit of a change and I need to get used to these markers as they come with a bullet nib. But there is now also a brush nib available.... that's great news! The brush nib will replace the chisel nib which then gives you a marker with both bullet and brush nib - perfect!!  Can't wait to order me some. But even with the bullet nib I had so much fun coloring with these markers. They are very juicy and blend beautifully. Right now they are only available in the UK and France BUT if you order them at Polkadoodles.com you'll receive free worldwide shipping (over £10!)

This is 'Winter Friends' and was just released this week. It's available as a Digital Stamp HERE and in Whimsy Rubber HERE.

As mentioned before I colored with my new Graph'It markers :-) The papers are from an older MME collection and just fit my image perfectly. Usually I pick my papers first and then I color accordingly to the DP colors. This time just started coloring and was happy to see that the MME fit quite nicely. I already saw me going through my stash of papers for ever to find a match - something I hate to do....
The sentiment is from Whimsy's Winter Letter Seals. Snowflake dies I used are from Spellbinders.

Here are the Graph'It marker colors I've used:

Skin/Cheeks: 4120, 4125, 4155, 4135
Dress: red:5210, 5220, 5250, 3170/ turquoise: 7210, 7220, 7250, 7270
Hair: 3190, 3170, 3130, 4180, 4155, 4115
Bunny: 9100, 9101, 9103
Penguin: 9109, 9107, 9105, 9103,9101 / 2120, 1210
Snow: 7125, 9101

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!
