Just Bee Cause - Bees and a Shaker Bauble

Happy Monday Everyone! It's the 20th of the month and that means it is time for another Whimsy Stamps Mini Release. I am showcasing a super cute bee clear stamp set by Krista Heij-Barber called Bee Happy

I thought this stamp is perfect for creating a shaker card. I am using the new shaker bauble bubbles from This Calls for Confetti as well as some of their Confetti mixes. I combined different confetti mixes and added some sequins to create my shaker mix.

I colored the cute bee images using Copics and pencils. The little bee who is burrowing it's head in the flower was added beneath the bauble together with the shaker mix. The other images are on top of the bauble as is the sentiment - which is included in the stamp set.

To create the frame around the shaker bauble I used the large frame from Whimsy's Shaker Maker Rectangle set. It fits perfectly with the large bauble bubble. I cut out the frame once from white cardstock and a second time from yellow cardstock (used the yellow as my bauble BG). I opted for a black card base to make it pop.

Copic Markers and pencils used:
Red: R24, 22, 21, 20
Yellow: Y19, 18, 15, 13
Black: N9, 7, 5, 2
Blue:B00, 000
Green: YG13, 17
Prismacolor Pencils: True Blue & Yellow Orange
FC Polychromos: Pale Geranium

Halloween Shaker - Trick or Treat

Hello! Today I am sharing a cute and not so creepy Halloween slimline shaker card. I used the NEW I Want Candy clear stamp set from Whimsy's Krista Heij-Barber line.

I also used the NEW Bats Galore slimline embossing folder on the shaker frame that I die cut using the Slimline Scenic Window die. To create the shaker windows background I used the Vintage Halloween 6x6 papers. I filled the shaker using Sparkletz - Creepy.

Hello Spring!

Hi Everyone! Back again today with a colorful Slimline card featuring the NEW Spring Bird clear stamp set by Krista Hei-Barber from Whimsy Stamps.

To create my top-fold slimline card (3.5" x 8.5") I inked a panel of white cardstock with Distress Oxide inks that I wanted to use for my background. I used orange and yellow tones and kept the middle of the panel lighter for a glowing effect. Then I used the Farmhouse Greenery stencil with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to add some texture.

The images are stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper. I colored using Caran D'Ache Luminous pencils and fussy cut the images. A few clear confetti sequins and dew drops finish off my card.

Thanks for stopping by today and I will be back soon with more inspiration!

Whimsy October Mini Release - Give Thanks

Happy October Everyone! Wow I can't believe Fall is here and we are starting into the last third of this crazy year! Here's hoping for a better and normal 2021!

Whimsy just released (yesterday) it's first October mini release and the new products are all fabulous! Here is a slimline card I made using one of Krista's new stamp sets called 'Thanksgiving Cornucopia' (all products linked below). This time I colored using my Kuretake Zig Brush Pens. I stamped onto Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I fussy cut the images after coloring.

I used the Slimline Pillows die and die cut the frame from kraft cardstock. I then inked around the edges using Delicata Golden Glitz ink. I wanted to give it a nice golden shine around the edge but honestly I did not like how it turned out. It was way to dull and the gold ink was not showing much on the kraft cardstock. So I thought about what else I could do in addition to the gold ink.
I thought of my gilding flakes and that I haven't used them in ages. So I gave it a try and used a glue pen to draw an uneven free hand border around my slimline frame. I let the glue dry until it was still sticky. Then I applied my gilding flakes and rubbed/burnished it with my fingers. Which worked quite well.

This time I liked the outcome very much! I had a nice and shiny golden border which I think goes very well with the theme and my images as you can see in the close-up here. :-)
The card base is a top fold slimline card made from dark brown heavy 110lb cardstock. I glued the Slimline Pillows die cut frame to the cardbase.
I used one of the sentiments included in the stamp set and stamped with Versafine Clair Pinecone ink onto one of the rectangular pillow cut outs. I arranged my fussy cut images onto the card front and added the sentiment to the middle cut out. I adhered the images with foam dots and added some golden sequins to finish off my card.

Whimsy Stamps August Mini Release #2 - Spooky Times!

Hello Friends & Happy Monday!

It looks a lot like Halloween! It's the second Whimsy Mini Release today for August and we are officially starting the Halloween Card Season. There are a lot of fun products in this release including some awesome new slimline dies! You can see all the new released products HERE

For my Slimline Halloween card I used the NEW Spooks and Spells clear set from Krista's collection and the NEW Slimline Stars Background die.

To make my card I first stamped all images from the Spooks and Spells clear set onto Copic friendly paper (e.g.Hammermill Digital Cover Stock) using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I colored the images with my Copic markers and fussy cut them. I die cut the Slimline Stars Background from black cardstock and my card base (8.5" x 3.5") is made from purple cardstock to give some contrast. I saved some of the die cut stars from the background for decorating.

I added some details to my images like Distress Embossing Glaze to the overflowing liquid in the kettle, Stickles Stardust to the Spiders, Flower Soft to the mound around the witch legs and silver shimmer to the bubbles of the mixtures. I also added purple and black Stickles to some of the die cut stars.

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto white cardstock. I cut out a piece of purple glitter paper to layer behind the sentiment.

To assemble my card I adhered the Slimline Stars Background to the card base. I then added the images and sentiment on top of the stars panel using foam dots. Finally I decorated my card with the glittery little stars I created.
