Now on to my card for today! At the moment I have a hard time to get my creative juices flowing. But I had to come up with something as it was my husbands birthday last week. So after going through my stash of  Whimsy stamps I decided on this super cute 'Over the Moon' stamp set. He loves Sci-fi, Star Trek and Star Wars so I thought these would make a perfect card for him.

Here is what i came up with:

I colored with Copics and colored pencils. Because I am struggling a bit with creativity at the moment I wanted to make a card that was assembled rather fast ..lol. So I opted for one of the Peekaboo Window dies. In my case the Peekaboo Window 3 die. I love the Peekaboo dies. They make a fast and easy card design. But you can also use them to create elaborate and fancy shaker cards for example. So many possibilities. I opted for the fast version...ha! 

I did not want my background to be plain white so I used the Polka Dot stencil and matching inks to add some confetti dots. The sentiment is also included with the set. To give my card a bit more interest and a 3D effect I popped up the middle little monster on a wobble sticker.

Oh and yes, hubby loved the card :-D

Whimsy Stamps and Tombow Collaboration Week

Hello Everyone, I'm here today with my creations for the Whimsy Stamps and Tombow collaboration. For my first card I used the adorable Winter Wonderland clear stamp set illustrated by Krista Heij-Barber and the Slimline Marquee die.

I inked the background using Distress Oxide Inks in different blue tones and sprinkled on water and some white acrylic paint for a snow effect. The snowflakes and sentiment in the middle window were stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  

 I used several different media to color my images therefore I stamped the images with a hybrid ink onto white mixed media paper. To color the snowmen I used Tombow Dual Brush Pens, Tombow ABT Pro Alcohol Markers - Orange Tones and Tombow Colored Pencils 1500 Series. 

I love to use different media when I color images and these markers and pencils from Tombow worked all very well together and it was a joy to color these adorable images from Whimsy Stamps.

Here is a closer look on the images. I used the markers to lay down the base colors and went over it with the pencils to add some more depth and details.

 For my second card I used the Rounded Rectangles dies, Forest Majesty dies and the Winter Wonderland clear stamp set again.

The background on this card is blue glitter paper and the window was cut out using the Rounded Rectangles dies. 

 I used the Tombow ABT Pro Alcohol Markers - Orange Tones to color the Snowmans nose, scarf and gloves. For everythign else (including the birch trees in the background) I used the Tombow Colored Pencils 1500 Series.

Bat Balloon

Hello Crafters & Happy Hump-Day! I have a Halloween card to share with you today. I combined the super cute Bat Balloon rubber stamp, Tree Silhouette rubber stamp and the  Halloween Creatures Stencil on my card.

I sponged the background with Distress Oxide inks and stamped the Tree Silhouette using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. I then stenciled the flock of bats with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. The Bat Balloon stamp was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black onto Hammermill 100lb Digital Copy Cover Stock, colored with Copics and cut out. I adhered the image to the background using foam tape for more dimension. A few Sequins and a very thin paper strip as balloon string complete this fun Halloween card. The purple glitter paper I used as a layer is from an older PaperDoor kit.

You are the Sweetest

Happy TGIF! Todays card showcases an older Whimsy Stamps image from the Krista Heij -Barber Collection - Ice Cream Truck, as well as a sentiment from the Beaucoup Bouquet set.

I stamped the image onto kraft cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it using Copics. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. To create the distressed looking background I stamped the Burlap Background stamp with Vermark ink onto karft cardstock.

Using Versamark ink only (without adding embossing powder and heat embossing) creates a soft watermark effect. The gorgeous pink glitter paper I used as a layer was from an older PaperDoor kit I've received.

To embellish the card I added Glossy Accents, Stickles Stardust and Sprinkled Sugar glitter glues and NUVO Crystal Drops White Blizzard to some of the cards elements. I also adhered some sequins, enamel dot and some Shaker Fun Confetti.
