Lets Roll! - Happy Birthday

Hey All! Two days late with my post for Whimsy Stamps but life interfered once again. Therefore without further ado here is another 'Sushi' card. Aren't these guys adorable? No matter if you like Sushi in real life or not 😉 A link list with all Whimsy products used is like always posted below.

I used a bright green A2 size card base (110lb cardstock). The background is created using the Teardrop Splash stencil, Versafine Clair Green Oasis ink and Whimsy large blending brush.
I then die cut the Jungle Frame form black cardstock. I stamped the images and sentiments with Versafine Clair Onyx Black ink onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper. Images were colored with Derwent Inktense pencils and fussy cut. The sentiments were die cut using the Comic Speech Bubbles die set. Images and sentiments were adhered to the front of the card base with foam dots and liquid glue.
is few clear confetti sequins from This Calls For Confetti finish off my card.

Sushi Time - Whimsy Stamps July 10th Mini Release

Hello Crafters & Happy Sunday!
The July 10th Mini Release is available in the Whimsy Stamps store now! My full panel shaker card today I am showcasing 'Sushi Time' by Krista Heij Barber.

If you are a frequent visitor of my blog you know I love to make shaker cards. Today's card is a full panel shaker. Which means the whole card front is a shaker instead of just adding a shaker element.
With the 'Full Front Shaker Pockets' from 'This Calls For Confetti' these are super easy to make. They are also available in the Whimsy store HERE. They come in three different sizes (mini slim, slim and A2).

The images I used on my shaker card are from the NEW Sushi Time clear stamp set by Krista. They are just adorable and so much fun to color. I used my Inktense pencils to color up these cuties.

I put some of the images on top of the shaker pocket and others I adhered onto the background paper before adding the shaker panel and filling. This way they are inside the shaker pocket. This adds a bit more interest to the card. The sentiment was also stamped onto the background paper. The designer paper I've used is from the Slimline Champagne paper set.

Wild & Free

Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Before the new release is due in the shop tomorrow I want to show another card I made with products from the July 1st release.

To achieve this grungy looking foiled background I used the NEW Giraffe Hot Foil Plate,  gold foil and black cardstock that is not super smooth.  I also omitted one of the cardstock shims I usually have to use use with my die cutting machine when foiling. I absolutely love the grungy partially foiled look. The sentiment is from the NEW Free Spirit clear stamp set. I heat embossed with pearl gold.

This Truck die is perfect for all occasions like birthdays, fathers days, kids, Christmas etc. You can incorporate it in scenes or just create simple cards like I did. Also perfect for creating cards with kids.

Hakuna Matata - Whimsy Stamps July 1st Mini Release

Hey All! It's the first of the month and that means it is time for another Whimsy Stamps Mini Release. The products hit the store shelves at midnight and they are ready for you to be viewed. Here are some awesome inspiration projects from the DT - scroll down to see my card.

When I saw this awesome lion family stamp 'mixed-media' jumped right into my head. So I went ahead and created a simple mixed-media card in an A2 size.

I first made the background using two earlier released stencils: Giraffe and Tiger Stripes. My background panel was cut from Strathmore mixed media cardstock and I used Memento Dye inks (Peanut Brittle, Potters Clay) and the NEW Whimsy blending brushes to stencil the BG. They are perfect for inking and the smooth and dense white bristles make for a soft and even ink application. I then stamped the image with Memento ink in Rich Cocoa onto the stenciled BG.

I cut out a mask for the image, adhered it and sprinkled the BG with Rich Cocoa and Peanut Brittle Memento inks. After everything was dry I used the Giraffe stencil to add a bit texture with NUVO Moonstone Glimmer Paste. The sentiment is included with the rubberstamp and was stamped onto kraft cardstock with Memento in Rich Cocoa.

Happy Campers

Gone Camping! Yeah well - noooo not so much...hahaha. I have to admit I don't like camping. I would rather spend my vacation time at home than in a tent or camper. Just not my thing.

Nevertheless the 'Gone Camping' clear stamp set from Whimsy is absolutely fabulous! I had so much fun creating this card and it is a fairly quick card to make as well. Read below how I did it.

I used Strathmore Mixed Media paper for my background. I like this best for ink blending. You either like to use it to blend inks or you hate it. Some say the ink is 'swimming' and not staying in place.
I have found that as long as I don't over do it with the ink it works fine for me. Sometimes I heat set it to help it dry more quickly. I can definitely achieve the smoothest blends with this paper.

After inking my BG with Distress inks I stamped the trees and fire place. Then I took a white gel pen and added the stars. The tent and sentiment I stamped on white mixed media paper, colored the tent using my Karin Brushmarkers Pro and cut both out. I adhered them to the card front with some foam dots and finished off my card by adding a few confetti sequins from This Calls for Confetti.

Simple Foiled Thank You

Happy Hump-Day Everyone! Today I am sharing a simple foiled thank you card using one of Whimsy's newest  word hot foil plates.

I used the Thank You word hot foil plate and foiled it with rainbow glimmer foil. To create the tag I used the Antique ATC Frames die set. To make it pop I cut out a bright blue frame using the Shaker Maker Rectangle die set. Some confetti sequins and an organza ribbon finish off my CAS card.

You Are Roarsome

Here is a quick and simple and also fairly clean...lol ... dino card with a bit of a mixed media influence. The die I used here is called Roaring from Whimsy Stamps.

To create the background I spritzed black acrylic paint on the white card base. I then stamped the border and sentiment with versafine clair tuxedo black ink. After die cutting the dino image and adhering it to the the card front using foam dots, I sprinkled white acrylic paint all over the die cut with a brush. Two black enamel dots finish of my card.

Seashell Friend

Hello! Have you seen the new adorable Clam Shell die set? This month Whimsy Stamps released a lot beachy and ocean related products.

I cut out the outer part of the clam shell from glossy pearlescent cardstock. The inside is cut from pink glitter paper and the face is black cardstock and has wiggle eyes. The background panels are both dry and heat embossed. The word and shadow is cut from gold foil cardstock and black cardstock.
