Just a Note - Clearly Whimsy

Today I want to show you a card I made using 3 different Clearly Whimsy stamp sets and a matching Shapeology die set. I used the Clearly Whimsy Just a Note set which was released in January and the older Say What set. I also used the matching Say What Speech Bubbles Die Set, it is on sale at the moment here in the Whimsy Store. The sentiment and xoxo border was stamped using the Clearly Whimsy Everyday Mini Sentiments.
I colored using my Kuretake Clean Color brush pens and the paper is from an Authentique paper pad called Lovely.

Frog Prince

Hello All and Happy Sunday! I tried a new technique today, well new for me that is.....no line coloring using water colors. I only did the no line technique with Copics so far. At the moment I am pretty addicted with my Kuretake Clean Color Brush Pens :-) so I thought I would give this a try. 

 

Frog Prince is this cute image called, illustrated by Sylvia Zet - Wee Stamps for Whimsy. In my opinion it is a bit more challenging to use the no-line technique with watercolors than with Copics. Because of the very light outline you have to be very careful while coloring and only use a damp, almost dry, brush to blend the colors. It's also pretty time consuming. But I have to say I like how it turned out. To better showcase the image I kept my embellies  to a minimum.

Here are my final two cards for our Release festivities: 

 

Baby Giraffe by Whimsy's newest desginer Lee Holland. Again I've colored using
Clean Color Real Brush Pens from Kuretake. The dies are from the Puzzle Pieces Die set and the sentiment is from the Everyday Mini Sentiments.

 

 Here I've used the Scripted Love Word Die and the You Complete Me clear set as well as the Painted Sayings Set (for the little word you ;-) )

This is Calantha by MiRan. I colored her using Clean Color Real Brush Pens from Kuretake. She was stamped with VersaMark Pigment black ink onto Fabriano hot press watercolor paper.

Please meet Little Helper Holly from the Little Cottage Cuties Collection by Elisabeth Bell. She's been colored using Copics. DP are leftovers from a very old Basic Grey collection called Sultry. Flowers from my stash (WOC)

Here are two CAS note cards made using the Clearly Whimsy Set Painted Sayings.
I made a colorwash background for both and stamped the birthday card with pigment ink and the friend card was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed using silver embossing powder.

Please meet Tilly. She is from the Whimsy Cottage Cuties collection by Elisabeth Bell. She was colored with Copics and the color combination was inspired by good a friend. I love how she turned out! The outline was done with Faber Castell PITT Pastell Pencils. papers are from different MME pads. The sentiment is from the Painted Sayings clear set. I also used the NEW Scripted Love Word Die , the Elegant Flourishes Die set and the Large Lace Doily Corner die. 

The doily corner dies are retiring soon and are now available at a reduced price. make sure you visit the store and get yours before they are gone forever!! 

 

This little notebook is from the Michaels 1$ bin, it even comes with the matching pen. You just can't beat that and it makes an adorable little gift. I deorated it using this cute fella from the Just a Note Clearly Whimsy Set. Perfect fit don't you think so? The sentiment is from the same set. I colored again using the Kuretake Clean Color Brush Pens

Again I stamped onto Fabriano Artistico extra white, hot press watercolor paper with Versafine ink and also used the Kuretake Clean Color Brush Pens again. I also used the
Clearly Whimsy Stamps Set "You Complete Me" and the matching dies "Puzzle Pieces Die Set"

My first card is one of the new super cute Lee Holland images, Teddy Best Friends:
 

I stamped on Fabriano Artistico extra white, hot press watercolor paper with Versafine ink. One of my favorite papers for water coloring.  I used the Kuretake Clean Color Brush Pens to color the little cutie. The sentiment comes with the stamp set.

Here is my second card using the new Clearly Whimsy Stamps Set "You Complete Me" and the matching dies "Puzzlew Pieces Die Set"

For my project today I made a bookmark using cute Freddie by Wee stamps. 

I also used the clear stamps set Stitched Alphabet. Freddie was colored with Copics and the DP is from an older Bo Bunny collection. Here are some more photos:

Here are my two creations for today:

This is Little Leora by Elisabeth Bell. She's been colored with Copics. Papers are from an old Basic Grey collection "Jovial" which I like very much. The Sentiment is from the Snowflake Wishes Sentiment set. Snowflakes dies are also from Whimsy's Shapeology collection called Elegant Snowflakes set.

         

This CAS style card was made using the Scandi Christmas set from Clearly Whimsy Stamps as well as the following Shapeology dies: Merry Large Word Die and Notched Square Die. 
I stamped with embossing ink and used fine detail snow white embossing powder.
