Hello Stamping Friends and Welcome to Day 1 of the Whimsy Stamps

May rubber stamp & die release!

Over the next 5 days we will reveal the new May 2014 Whimsy Stamps products.  We are releasing a fabulous selection of new goodies this month, and the entire release will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and from all good Whimsy Stamps retailers from Wednesday (21st May).

We are thrilled to welcome Danni and Linda as our Guest Designers this month.  Welcome girls - we can't wait to see what you have created!

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden FOUR prizes of 2 new release rubber stamps somewhere on the DT’s blogs throughout our 5-day release event this week. As the location of the prizes are secret, be sure to leave a comment on ALL the stops on each daily blog hop to maximize your chance of winning! We will draw the lucky winners over the weekend and announce them here on the Whimsy blog next week.

Today we are excited to show you the brand new Sylvia Zet and Cathy Delanssay stamps released this month. Visit the Whimsy Inspirations Blog to have a glance at all the newly released stamps from Sylvia and Cathy.
I have the honor to show you one of Cahty's new images today. I made a card using 'Alice' and colored her with alcohol markers. Mostly Graph It this time but I also used some Copics (for the hair).
The sentiment is by SC Designs from the *New* 'Life's Moments' set. And the cute die cut stars are made with the *New* Pierced Stacking Star Die.
Other dies used are from Tim Holtz and I also used cardboard and paper art from Dutch Doobadoo to embellish. DP is from Maja Design and the flowers are from WOC and my stash.

I used Fran-Tage shabby white embossing powder around the image and also on the cardboard heart.

The paper was distressed using my Distress-It tool and Distress Ink.

So now it’s time to check out what my amazing DT sisters have created with these new stamps. Don’t forget to leave a comment at every stop along the hop to be entered into the draws to win some new release rubber!

Thanks for stopping by and playing along! See you again tomorrow for our second day of sneak peeks!

Hey Girlfriend!

Hello Stamping Friends! The card I want to share with you today is more on the simpler side, well, let's say it's clearly CAS. :-D

I colored this sweet Whimsy - Time for Tea Designs image, called 'Short Stroll', in the 'no-lines' technique using my Copics. This is a first for me with 'no-lines' so please bear with me on the coloring...I still need lots of practice with this technique!
To decorate the card I only added some ribbon and buttons. The DP is from Fancy Pants's 'The Good Life' collection.

I've added the sentiment right next to the image. It's from Whimsy's SC Designs collection 'Girl Talk'

I like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Girls Challenge - Anything Goes  - until 5/28
DL.Art Challenge - Anything Feminine - until 5/20
Penny Black and more - Anything Goes - until 5/28

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of the week!

Time to Sparkle!

Hello Everyone! Sorry for being MIA for the last few weeks but there was a lot going on in my life which needed 100% of my attention. Also my creative mojo and my batteries enjoyed the break and a chance to recharge ;-)

I'm back today with a creation with one of Whimsy's Crissy Armstrongs images from the March release called 'Playful Tiger'.

I colored the image using my Copic's and for the background I used Caran'd Ache Gouache colors. The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps 'Girl Talk' set by SC Designs. The cute banner is made with the 'Built a Banner Die Set'  also designed by SC Designs. Flowers are from WOC and the butterfly and honeycomb deco art are from Dutch Doobadoo.Filmstrip is from Tim Holtz. All other embelleis are from my stash.

Here's a close-up on the image:

Vintage Tag and Graph' It Marker Blog Hop Winner

Happy Sunday To You All! Today I would like to share a vintage style tag I made a while ago for the CreateExchange FB-group February tag swap. It reached it's destination in Australia last week so I'm able to share it with you here now.

But first I would like to announce my winner from the Graph'It Marker & Whimsy Stamps combined challenge. The prize is a 3 pack of Graph' It markers! Without further ado here is the randomly drawn winner:

Congratulations Sweety!
Please contact me with you snail mail address at cocoacrafts(at)gmail.com

Ok now onto my project for today. The February theme was to create a vintage style tag using burlap. This is what I came up with:

No colored image on this tag though. Instead I used a Whimsy Stamps sentiment as my focal point. It's from the Vintage Seed Packets 2 sentiment set. Stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto kraft cardstock. Design papers I used are from Pion Design. I used dies from Whimsy Stamps - Lace Doily Corner 1 , Mini Lace Doily Corner & Picket Fence; Tim Holtz: Picture View & Butterfly Border; Memory Box: Chloe Stem; Marianne Design: Butterfly. The zipper and white resin heart are from Prima and the fountain pen nib is from Tim Holtz. Flowers are from WOC and handmade rolled roses using a Memory Box die. The pearl swirls I used are from Want to Scrap. Lace and burlap are from my stash, I think I got them at Walmart.

Here is a close-up on the details:

And here's one more artsy shot :-)

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week!

So Sweet! - New Whimsy Clear Stamps

Hello Everyone! Today I have a card to share made with the brand new 'Clearly Whimsy Stamps'! These are highest quality photopolymer clear stamps!

Usually I'm not a big clear stamps fan but these are AWESOME! They stamp crisp and clean like red rubber! No ink pools building up on the stamp surface and they really do stick to your acrylic block and not falling off! They are nice and sturdy and don't feel like 'Jello' and are stretching out like a bubble gum.

The designer and artist behind all this gorgeousness is no one less than my Whimsy DT-Sister Simonne Clay - SC Designs. Brilliant design job Sem!!
This new line features more simple designs perfect for all the CAS creations. As much as I love doing embellished cards I also enjoy creating CAS!

For this card I used Sweet As Candy - Sweet Lables and  Sweet As Candy Sweet Images. I've stamped the candy images using Memento 'tart pear', 'dandelion', and cotton candy on smooth white cardstock. I've colored them in using Copics and added Glossy Accents and Stickles to make them pop.

Whimsy Stamps has put together a DREAM TEAM of crafters to help launch the debut clear release and there's a blog hop going on with fab prizes So make sure you read all about it here on the Whimsy Inspirations Blog!

Thanks for stopping by!
