Comic Themed Whimsy Stamps Mini Release

Hello Whimsy Friends, Welcome to Another Mini-Release!

We are celebrating another Mini-Release at Whimsy Stamps today and WOW what can I say...it is FA-BU-LOUS! It's Comic Book Themed and includes stamps, dies, papers, stencil! You can check it out in the store HERE!

On my card today I used 3 of the new products: Comic Burst A2 Die, Comic Half-Tone Stencil and BAM! You're Old clear stamp set.

To create my card I started out with a bright yellow A2 size, top-fold card base. I die cut the Comic Burst A2 Die from red cardstock and and applied the Comic Half-Tone Stencil to the yellow card base using white pigment ink. Then I stamped the images and sentiments and cut them out. The one sentiment was cut out using the bubble die that is included with the Comic Burst A2 Die. I stamped the word BAM! with Versafine Paradise ink and colored the Supergirl image with Copics. I assembled my card using glue and foam tape/dots for more dimension. Some Sparkletz Crystal Stars finish off my card.

Now on to my card for today! At the moment I have a hard time to get my creative juices flowing. But I had to come up with something as it was my husbands birthday last week. So after going through my stash of  Whimsy stamps I decided on this super cute 'Over the Moon' stamp set. He loves Sci-fi, Star Trek and Star Wars so I thought these would make a perfect card for him.

Here is what i came up with:

I colored with Copics and colored pencils. Because I am struggling a bit with creativity at the moment I wanted to make a card that was assembled rather fast ..lol. So I opted for one of the Peekaboo Window dies. In my case the Peekaboo Window 3 die. I love the Peekaboo dies. They make a fast and easy card design. But you can also use them to create elaborate and fancy shaker cards for example. So many possibilities. I opted for the fast version...ha!

I did not want my background to be plain white so I used the Polka Dot stencil and matching inks to add some confetti dots. The sentiment is also included with the set. To give my card a bit more interest and a 3D effect I popped up the middle little monster on a wobble sticker.

Oh and yes, hubby loved the card :-D

Sunflower Greetings

Hello Friends - Happy Sunday! I hope you are all well and healthy! It's a rainy day here today in Florida on the Space Coast but I don't mind, we needed some rain desperately. My yard is definitely happy about it!

I have a bright and cheery sunflower card to share with you today:

This is a NEW background stamp from Whimsy Stamps called Sunflower Background. But as you can see it's very versatile. I stamped with Memento Desert Sand onto Hammermill 100lb cardstock and colored with Tombow Alcohol markers, Copics and FB Polychromos pencils.
To add some texture to the background I used the Farmhouse Basket Stencil with modeling paste. After it has dried I've added some splashes of green and yellow with watercolor.

The leaves are from the Peony Flower die set and cut out from green cardstock. The butterfly is stamped onto vellum paper using Versamark ink. It's been heat embossed with white pearl embossing powder and cut out. The sentiment is from the Sympathy Life Goes On clear set.

Whimsy Stamps Fresh Friday - You're So Sweet

Hello Crafty Friends! It's 'Fresh Friday' today on the Whimsy blog. Fresh Friday is every Friday on the Whimsy blog and means we are taking a look at previously released products.

There is a an awesome compilation of newer and older products for the next two weeks. This week we are showcasing:

Here is my inspiration on how all these products can be used together:

First I used the Farmhouse Basket stencil together with Memento Cantaloupe ink on a white panel of cardstock. I inked just parts of it and let the edges fade out. Then I sprinkled on some Memento Cantaloupe and Teal Zeal ink.

I stamped the little monkey, flowers and leaves from the Jungle Babies clear stamps set with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Hammermill 100lbs cardstock. I colred all images with Copics and fussy cut them.

I die cut the circle from the Shaker Maker Combo dies  as well as  all the butterflies and small flowers from different sheets of the Giraffe 6x6 Paper Collection. The square elements were die cut using the Notched Squares diesThe sentiment from the So and Too clear set was stamped using Versamark ink. I adhered all elements using foam tape and glue.

Happy 60. Birthday Card - Journey to Egypt

Hey Crafty Friends! Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday. I am here today with my last Whimsy creation for September. It's another request I had. Again for a birthday card, this time it's for someone who likes to travel to Egypt. Ok was quite a challenge because I do not have any Egypt related stamps in my stash. But I got creative and came up with this - all Whimsy products of course ;-)

I used the Shaker Maker Pennant Flag dies, the Brick Pattern Stencil and Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy to create the pyramids. The boat and the waves are are from the Splash clear stamp set. I created a back ground with Brusho (Ultramarine and Turquoise) and stamped the waves with Versamark ink on top and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The frame was made using the notched rectanlgle dies. I added some bling with Sparkletz Crystal Stars and Sparkletz Sailors Sky.

On the insides is the rest of the sentiment:
