Happy TGIF Peeps!

It is a rainy afternoon here on Floridas Space Coast. So it was the perfect time to assemble my newest Whimsy creation. I've colored this cute monkey two days ago already but didn't have the time to finish my card until today. 

The stamp set is called NEW Monkey Sundae from Whimsy Stamps Dustin Pike collection. I've stamped with Antique Linen Distress Ink onto Arches Cold Press Watercolor Paper. I went for a no-lines watercolor technique using Karin Brushmarker Pro. I love these markers because there are so many coloring techniques you can use them for and their vibrancy is just phenomenal. A little bit goes a real long way with these markers! I've listed the marker colors used below.

For my background I've used the NEW 'Burst' Background Stamp with 3 different colored blue inks to enhance the burst effect. Also new this month the Oops Word & Shadow Die. For my card the shadow was cut form black cardstock and for the word I've used blue glitter paper. The sentiment is from the 'Birthday Otters' clear stamp set.

Whimsy Stamps Mini Release - Super Dogs

Happy Monday and welcome to my blog today!

It is release time at Whimsy again and my release inspiration project shows another comic book style card. This time a slimline version. By the way, did you know - Slimline Dies are Whimsy Stamps originals and were the first available on the market. Whimsy has a variety of slimline dies styles available in the store. So when you shop for slimline dies make sure you buy the original! :-)

For my comic book inspired card I chose the NEW Super Dogs stamp set, NEW Comics 6x6 paper pad and NEW Slimline Wonky Window 1 die as well as the Comic Speech Bubbles die set that was released last month. I colored with Karin Brushmarker Pro, images stamped onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper.

I colored my image with Karin Brushmarker Pro. This is a pretty simple card but the shaped card base, several layers, popped up sentiment and added embellies and glitz gives this otherwise simple card an interesting touch. So even if you create a fast and fairly simple card it does not have to be boring. We don't always have the time and create for hours - even if I wish I would ...LOL. So this card was done in a little bit over an hour including coloring.

Here is the first creation I made using the Bizzy Bees kit:

I addition to the Bizzi Bees stamps I included the Bissy Bee Papers in my card as well as the Honeycomb Drips Stencil. I colored these cute little fellas with Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers. The sentiment is also included in the set.The Whimsy Honeycomb die (NOT included in the Paper Door kit) works perfectly with this Paper Door kit. The die cut honeycombs are the same size as the stencil. A perfect fit...just saying ...

Whimsy Virtual Weekend Continues - Pencil colored Sloth on Mixed Media Card

Hey there Whimsy Friends - Let the virtual weekend fun continue!
