Mixed Media Art Journal Page - Flowers and Bees

Happy TGIF! Are you all exited? Tomorrow is Whimsy release time! Only a few hours until the Whimsy Stamps June release will be available in stores at midnight. Meanwhile I have an Art Journal page to share with you.
This is one of the pages from my Whimsy Retreat Art Journal project.

To create this page I sprayed the paper with water and added different colors of watercolor on top of the page and let the colors run down. You can also use a brush and start blending them slightly.

Then using various stamps and stencils add stars and polka dots.  The main focus are the flowers in the middle. The flower image was stamped onto an old book page and fussy cut before adding it to the journal page and then colored it with distress crayons.

The bees where stamped on a piece of gel printed paper I had left over and cut out. I used white acrylic paint/Gesso and a stencil, a bottle cap and an old plastic card to add more details to the page.

I sprinkled a circle of pearl white paint around the image. Attached the bees and added finishing touches with a gold metallic DecoColor marker, a white POSCA pen and Stickles glitter glue. I also inked around the page edges using blue distress ink.
