New Hanglar Only Challenge Blog & Pirate Ahoy!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend if you are living here in the U.S. and Happy Sunday to everyone else! I hope your weekend was as fabulous as mine so far and that you can also enjoy nice and warm weather! First I like to share some news with you, for my card scroll a little further down!

I have some GREAT news for you today. My DT sisters Ilona, Marina, Nicolchen (from ISB-DT) and I have decided to start a new challenge blog. Well, yes I know there are a lot of challenge blogs out there already! BUT this one is a special one :-) This is going to be a Hänglar only challenge blog. Because we like these cute images and I know a lot of you do too we thought they need to have an own challenge blog dedicated to them.  And here it is, may I present to you:

Our first challenge will be starting very soon, on Wednesday June 2nd! So check out our new challenge blog for all the details and challenge rules.  Rules and blog postings will  soon also be available in English. I hope you like to join us and if you like to post about the new Hänglar challenge blog on your own blog  you are more then welcome to do so, we would really appreciate it. Let everybody know about it. I'm looking forward seeing your Hänglar creations there soon!

Pirate Ahoy! - is the theme for my little card set I like to show you today. I used Magnolia's Jolly Roger Tilda stamped her with Archival Ink on 140 lb / 300g hot pressed watercolor (mine is from Lanaquarelle)  paper and colored her using my Distress Inks. It was the first time for me to color on hot pressed watercolor paper and I must say I LOVE it, much better than cold pressed or even rough. It is very smooth compared to the others and a dream to color on as well as to stamp on.

I used the fab sketch from the ongoing Cute Stamps & Cards challenge, designed by Claudia. At Magnolia Down Under Challenges this weeks challenge is Flowers, I'm also entering my card there.

The large Jolly Roger is a Cuttlebug die which I found on sale recently at my local craft store. DP is from Glitz Design, CS is Bazzill & Best Occasion. Flowers are from Magnolia and are highlighted with some Stickles. I also used the Spellbinders Fleur di Lis Pendant (inside and out)

And because I'm always having problems fitting my decorated cards into regular envelopes I decided to make a box for my card this time, instead of putting her in an envelope.

I made the box with a little 'shaker window'. So if it's closed you can still have a peek of what's inside. ;-)

I hope you like my little card & box set. Oh and before I forget of course here is a list of the distress ink colors I've used:

Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Brushed Corduroy, Walnut Stain, Black Soot, Aged Mahagony, Pumice Stone, Old Paper, Tumbled Glass

Love and Hugs,
